Berlin By Light

Berlin Nr. 4” by Petra Grünig shows the re-opening of the “Museumsinsel” (Museum Island) in East-Berlin after World War 2. Spectral light projectors change the forms and colours of the shadows – The light refracts the contours of the persons and becomes the medium itself.

The use of light is a common theme throughout Petra Grünig’s work – The light opens multidimensional spaces in her paintings. She concentrates on a poetic language of transparent and meta-dimensional imagery in her artworks. Behind the poetic language lays a story for each observer.
